The Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Pécs is once again announcing the Dean’s Scientific Student Paper Competition in 2025, offering students the opportunity to present their Scientific Student Association (TDK) research activities and gain recognition for their outstanding work.
Benefits of the Awarded Dean’s Scientific Student Paper:
- May be accepted as a thesis.
- If the author has presented the topic of the paper at a TDK Conference and received an award, the thesis defense is waived, and the paper automatically receives the highest grade.
- If no presentation was given, the paper must be defended at the institute level, where the author’s debating skills will also be evaluated.
Who Can Apply?
The competition is open to students who:
- have been members of the TDK for at least one year, and
- whose membership is verified by their supervisor in the official register.
The paper may be based on:
- a topic previously announced by the Faculty’s academic institutions, or
- a new topic proposed and approved by the student’s TDK supervisor that has not been published before.
The paper may be:
- experimental research (strongly preferred),
- or based on clinical or literature research findings.
Formal Requirements:
The formal requirements of the paper are identical to those of the thesis. A detailed guide is available here:
Guidelines for Thesis Writing (Faculty of Pharmacy, UP)
The paper may be submitted:
- under a motto (anonymously), in which case a sealed envelope must be attached containing the paper’s title, the author’s name, and the supervisor’s and institute’s details, or
- with the author’s and supervisor’s names, similar to the thesis.
Important: The Dean’s Scientific Student Paper cannot be submitted with co-authors.
Submission and Deadline:
- Two printed copies must be submitted (bound or stapled).
- Papers submitted unbound will not be accepted.
- Place of submission: Dean’s Office, Faculty of Pharmacy (7624 Pécs, Rókus u. 2., Building K, 1st floor).
- Deadline: October 24, 2025 (Friday) at 14:00.
Announcement of Results and Awards:
Following evaluation, the results will be announced at one of the Faculty’s TDK events.
