Pharmacy is an increasingly complex and dynamic profession, where up-to-date, specialized knowledge brings real value both on the job market and in everyday patient care. Every year the specialist pharmacist training program at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Pécs offers graduate pharmacists the opportunity to deepen their expertise in one of three fields, through a modern and practice-oriented curriculum.
After the graduation it is timely to consider obtaining a specialist pharmacist qualification not only brings prestige but can also provide significant professional advantages and open up new career paths within the field of pharmacy.
The specialist pharmacist training in Pécs is designed for graduate pharmacists who wish to expand their knowledge and acquire current, practical expertise that can be applied directly in their daily work. The training is organized along three main specializations:
- Community Pharmacy Specialization
- Hospital-Clinical Pharmacy Specialization
- Industrial and Pharmaceutical Research Specialization
Each specialization offers a range of core and advanced qualifications - seven core and five additional programs - opening doors to diverse career opportunities:
Pharmacy Practice specialization:
- Pharmacy Management and Operation
- Pharmaceutical Care, Pharmacology
Hospital and Clinical Pharmacy specialization:
- Hospital and Clinical Pharmacy
- Clinical Laboratory Pharmacy
- Clinical Microbiology Laboratory Pharmacy
Industrial Pharmacy specialization:
- Pharmaceutical Technology
- Quality Assurance
Advanced Specialist Pharmacist qualifications:
- Oncology pharmacy
- Infectious disease pharmacy
- Drug information and therapeutic counseling
- Parenteral medication
- Toxicology
The curriculum is continuously updated to meet current labor market and regulatory demands, ensuring that applicants gain the latest knowledge and skills.
