Immigration InfoPoint: new service for the students participating in the English program at the Medical School and the Faculty of Pharmacy in Pécs

7 August 2023

The Immigration InfoPoint, a new service at the UPMS Registrar’s Office launched this spring and now further expanded, provides consultation and assistance related to immigration processes for newly admitted and current students participating in the English program at the UP Medical School and the Faculty of Pharmacy.

The majority of international students at the University of Pécs study at the Medical School and the Faculty of Pharmacy, which is why it is essential to expand and develop the services provided to support them.

The Immigration InfoPoint has been established in this spirit, which is provided by the Registrar’s Office at the Medical School for general medicine, dentistry, and pharmacy students participating in the English program. As the Head of Office, Dr. Nóra Baán pointed out, the service is open to both newly admitted students, and to prospective doctors, dentists, and pharmacists already studying in Pécs.

The Immigration InfoPoint has been operating since April 2023, the colleagues have already been helping students to extend their residence permits since the spring. This service has been expanded in the summer, and colleagues are making students’ lives easier in all related areas from August.

In addition to the procedure of residence permits and the administrative assistance in residence permits for upper-year students, they provide online and face-to-face consultation, as well as personal assistance with submitting applications, identification requiring personal appearance, and contacting the National Directorate General of Immigration.

The contact details of the colleagues whom students can turn to with confidence are available on the website of the Registrar’s Office.

Dr. Nóra Baán emphasized that the Registrar’s Office works in close cooperation with the central offices of the University of Pécs and the South Transdanubian Regional Directorate of the National Directorate General of Immigration to provide the broadest possible and most efficient service to students.

Useful materials and videos will be added to the above-mentioned websites, courtesy of the UP Directorate of Education, which will also be a helpful guide for the students participating in the English program at the Medical School and the Faculty of Pharmacy in Pécs.
